Bruce Kaminsky is a working musician, which is another name for an entrepreneur. His first start-up was at the age of 14 as an electric bassist in a capitalized rock band venture. To diversify his portfolio he took up the acoustic bass at age 19. This led him to a career in jazz and classical music performance, recording and production which he continues to this day. He has performed with jazz artists, Tal Farlow, Jimmy Knepper, Larry Coryell and Bucky Pizzarelli. For 28 years, he was a senior production member with the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) working directly with Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea and Dave Holland. He has also recorded solo bass for a line of Honda car commercials.

After receiving his M.M. from the Combs College of Music, he expanded his base in music education by teaching and developing curricula at Drexel University, The University of the Arts and Montgomery County Community College.

Developing a niche market, Kaminsky created and is president of Kydd Products, Inc., manufacturer of Kydd Basses, a compact, electric upright bass. Kydd basses are distributed worldwide and are used by such bassists as Stanley Banks (w/George Benson), Fernando Saunders (w/Lou Reed) and Oteil Burbridge (w/The Allman Brothers Band).

Bringing together his innovations and expertise with manufacturing, production, and education, Kaminsky created the portable Kydd Lab. The Kydd Lab is a roll-away electric instrument class lab that utilizes headphones and two-way talkback communication between multiple students and the instructor. The Kydd Lab is now used in several Universities.

He has also created the Kydd Sound Reflector for grand pianos. The Kydd Sound Reflector is a patent pending panel of transparent polycarbonate strategically placed in the piano to reflect sound back to the pianist.

His love of Middle Eastern music influenced him to create The Spice Route Ensemble, which is a group comprised of Arabs and Jews that lead residencies involving cultural cooperation through music.

Bruce Kaminsky is married to theatrical costumer, Lorraine Anderson and has two children, Jacob and Aviva. Bruce rides a 1982 Yamaha Virago 920 with a full touring kit.
